Being a carer for an elderly parent, relative or neighbour can bring new responsibilities, challenges and, unfortunately, not least growing concern about age-related problems. There may be pressures at the same time from other directions – from family, work or everyday life. Many of us are familiar with the sad fact that visits and phone calls will often be filled with control questions instead of spending time on things you really want to or should be talking about. And that gnawing sense of a bad conscience because you can’t always visit as often as you should. Does this sound familiar?
In a series of articles, we want to make it easier for carers to know how to deal with various situations that might arise. In consultation with various experts, we intend to try and answer questions about and offer proactive advice on how to deal with different situations.
Do you have a question? Don’t hesitate to contact us, and we’ll try to answer your question.
